Sunday morning offerings at 10am:
1. Delve into a study of Proverbs to discover what the Wisdom branch of our heritage adds to the faith. Led by Pastor Larry, this class meets in the conference room.
2. The Gospel According to the Simpson’s by Mark I. Pinsky is led by Jonathan Wenzel and meets in the Jr. High Youth Room. Each discussion is independent of the others; classes end October 19. “The Simpson;s is one of the longest running, funniest, most irreverent, and according to some religious leaders, the most theologically relevant show on television today. Journalist Mark Pinsky explores the religious and spiritual aspects of Bart, Homer and the rest of cartoon’s first family – a show strongly denounced by many conservative Christians back in 1989, but now viewed favorably by fans from all across the theological spectrum.”
Tuesday morning at 11am:
The Good and Beautiful God: falling in love with the God Jesus knows by James Bryan Smith – We will explore the narratives Jesus reveals about God in the Gospels – a good and beautiful God. By discovering these narratives we have a basis for engaging in a process of spiritual growth and formation. This includes practices aimed at making Jesus’ revelation real to mind, body, and soul. This experientail Bible Study led by David and Lorraine Eshleman will meet in the conference room.
Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm:
A second offering of The Gospel According to the Simpson’s will be held in the conference room.
