Our Mission: To be a loving community of faith dedicated to helping people know Jesus Christ and grow, share, and serve as his disciples.

Our Vision: To provide an inviting and welcoming church home that attracts people of all ages and encourages positive growth, while creating an exciting and dynamic approach as disciples of Jesus Christ.

At Fenton First Presbyterian Church, we are a community of imperfect people seeking to know, love, and follow Jesus more deeply.
It’s really that simple. While faith and growth are not always easy, we believe God meets us with grace every step of the way.

Our hope is to share the deep and unending love of Jesus with every person we meet.
We want you to feel welcomed, valued, and at home here—because we believe you belong. You don’t have to have everything figured out or be perfect to come to church; you simply need a willingness to grow in faith and community.

We know visiting a church for the first time can feel intimidating, and we honor the courage it takes to try something new.
Wherever you are on your journey, we are committed to walking alongside you and helping you experience the love, grace, and hope of Jesus Christ.

There is a place for you here.

Our Affiliations & History

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States, formed in 1983 through the reunion of branches that had separated around the time of the Civil War. Rooted in the Reformed tradition and shaped by the teachings of reformers such as John Calvin, the church emphasizes God’s grace, faithful service, shared leadership, and a commitment to justice and compassion in the world.

For more than four centuries, Presbyterians have responded to the call of Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel, serving communities in need, and bearing witness to Christ’s love throughout the world. From the organization of the first American presbytery in 1706 to the establishment of institutions such as Princeton University, Presbyterians have played an active role in education, mission, and public life.

At the heart of Presbyterian belief is the conviction that salvation comes through God’s grace in Jesus Christ, not through human achievement. Presbyterians believe that all Christians are called to share the Good News and to serve faithfully in the world. The church is governed by a representative form of leadership in which ministers and elected elders share authority and responsibility together.

The word “Presbyterian” comes from the Greek word meaning “elder.” Congregations are governed by a body called the Session, made up of elected ruling elders and pastors, also known as teaching elders. Presbyterians believe leadership is best discerned through prayerful decision-making in community rather than by individuals acting alone. Deacons may also be elected and ordained to ministries of compassion, care, and service.

The PC(USA) affirms the sovereignty of God and seeks to live out faith through worship, spiritual growth, stewardship, and service. The church’s vision is reflected in the Six Great Ends of the Church, which include the proclamation of the gospel, the shelter and nurture of God’s people, the preservation of truth, the promotion of social righteousness, and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.

Presbyterians also believe that faith calls Christians to engage issues of justice and mercy. The church encourages members to work toward alleviating poverty, reducing violence, caring for creation, and seeking justice and dignity for all people. In all things, the church strives to discern the will of Christ and to speak and act with humility, grace, and love.
