The “Solomon” rotation runs through November 22. Our study of Solomon has two important parts. The first focuses on God’s gift of wisdom to Solomon, contained in 1 Kings chapter 3. Solomon prayed to God, not for riches or glory, but for wisdom to rule his people with justice. The case of the two women claiming the same baby illustrates this.
The second part of Solomon’s story is the building of the temple. It was to be a place fro the worship of God, and to house the Ark of the Covenant. This was to fulfill David’s promise to God, and to honor him.
The memory verse is: 1 Kings 8:28 Lord my God, listen to your servant’s prayer and request, and hear the cry and prayer that your servant prays to you today.
