This is an adult Bible study of the Old Testament lessons in the Lectionary for Lent. The meal begins at 5:30pm, studies are from 6:15-7:30. We will be collaborating with St. Jude’s Episcopal Church, and all sessions will be held in our Fellowship Hall. Child care is available in our nursery.
This rotation runs February 10 – March 17. The children will learn that Joshua was a prohpet. He led his people into Canaan (the Promised Land), conquered Jericho, and renewed the covenant with God. Children will learn Joshua’s story and what it means to be a propeht – one who speaks for God. The discussion will focus on the meaning of the memroy verse.
Memory verse: Joshua 24:14-15 “Decide today whom you will serve… As for my family and me, we will serve the Lord.”
January 6 – February 3, 2013:
Objective: To understand that God will never abandon anyone. He will search for one who is lost until that soul is found. Everyone is equally important to God. Older children should try to figure out their roles in helping God achieve His purpose.
Memory Verse: Matthew 18:14 – “In the same way, your father in heaven does not want any of these little ones to be lost.”
