August 19, 2019 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

This August 19th at 7pm, Amy Eshleman (Associate Professor of psychology at Wagner College and Pastor David Eshelman’s daughter), will be leading us in a discussion of racism based on her book, “Seeing White”. Amy shared this book with us some years ago when it was first published and will help guide a conversation as we explore our feelings and ideas about racism and what we can do to eliminate it.

Books are available for $15 in the fellowship hall. Please see David Eshleman for more information. The book is also available in print form and as an e-book on Amazon.

The Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) states, “Racism is the opposite of what God intends for humanity. It is the rejection of the other, which is entirely contrary to the Word of God incarnate in Jesus Christ…Because of our biblical understanding of who God is and what God intends for humanity, PCUSA must stand against, speak against and work against racism.” Antiracist effort is not optional for Christians. It is an essential aspect of Christian discipleship, without which we fail to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We hope you’ll join us! If you have any questions, please call the church office.
