30 Hour Famine Service Projects

12 youth and 7 adults participated for all or part of the time during World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, sponsored by our youth group.  The program consisted of service projects,”tribal games” that taught us about hunger, poverty, and the importance of education, and ended with communion on Sunday morning. Saturday’s service projects included fall yard clean-up at Carriage Town Ministries’ properties in Flint, Michigan, a prayer walk in the downtown Fenton area, and raking a yard for a family in our congregation. Of course, jumping into piles of leaves was part of the fun! All in all we filled over 60 bags of leaves – Whew!!!  Thank you to Mark and Jenny Gibb, Lee and Vicky Graham, Club 45, and Bill & Nikki Black for working alongside us, and to Pastor David for leading us in our communion service to break the fast 🙂
